Metro will temporarily be providing free transportation via its on-demand Microtransit service to the Camden Centre COVID-19 vaccination site every Tuesday between the hours of 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. Service will be provided via 12-passenger vans that will connect with Metro fixed-route transfer hubs such as District Station, Two Rivers Point (formerly Sunset Heights Apartments), District Station, City Line Plaza, and UnityPoint Hospitals in Moline and Rock Island. The on-demand service will be free, but fares may apply if you’re traveling to/from a pick up location on fixed route service.
Interested riders should keep informed on vaccine appointment availability and scheduling through the Rock Island County Health Department at www.richd.org. For those who may not have internet access, Alternatives for the Older Adult has also set up a Vaccine Support Center via phone at (833) 382-1314.
Once you have scheduled your vaccine appointment, you can schedule a ride in advance by calling Metro’s Customer Call Center at (309) 788-3360 or by visiting the “OnDemand” section at the bottom of your TransLoc app and swiping to “Camden Centre Vaccinations.” Rides may also be scheduled the day of appointment, but are subject to availability and wait times may be longer.
All riders must wear a face covering while riding Metro, or while at any Metro terminal or facility, per TSA/CDC Directives.
