Rock Island, Illinois (December 31, 2018) – For the first year, the Original Light Beer is proud to partner with Metroand Euclid Beverage to encourage the Quad Cities community to Celebrate Responsibly® on New Year’s Eve. Miller Lite Free Rides® will provide safe and free rides on two Metrobus routes, serving downtown Davenport, Rock Island and Moline, as well as the Avenue of the Cities/19th Avenue/14th Avenue corridors in Moline and Rock Island, starting at 9 p.m. and running until 3 a.m.
“Miller Lite believes that the only way to ring in the New Year is to do so responsibly,” said Diane Wagner, alcohol responsibility manager for MillerCoors. “Through our partnerships with Metro and Euclid Beverage, we are making sure that beer drinkers in the Quad Cities have a range of options to get home safely and prevent drunk driving.”
Last year marked the 30th anniversary of the Free Rides program which has provided more than 6.4 million people in 27 communities with safe rides as part of an ongoing commitment to helping consumers Celebrate Responsibly®.
“Metro is thrilled to partner with Miller Lite to help residents and visitors of the Quad Cities to ring in the New Year responsibly,” said Jennifer Hirsch, Metro manager of administration. “Public transit is a great transportation alternative and we can’t think of a better way to celebrate the New Year.”
